Hamish Rodwell

His qualifications include:

Diploma of VET (Vocational Education and Training) Practice

Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery

Hamish specialises in cooking seasonal food of exceptional quality.  He enjoys expanding his knowledge of culinary trends by regularly dining out and taking advantage of professional development opportunities.  He has traveled extensively throughout Asia and Europe and enjoys sampling local cuisines.

He has worked in industry for over 15 years in a range of different establishments – from fine dining, busy cafes and catering. 

More recently, Hamish has been teaching hospitality to apprentices and international students for the last seven years. He currently teaches at NMIT Tafe in Preston. He runs the training restaurant; coordinates teams for culinary competitions such as the regional Australian Tafe – culinary Trophy competition; and teaches students in subjects ranging from butchery and restaurant operation. He has been involved in judging other regional finals and state events over the past three years and a committee member of Aust Tafe.

Hamish has also been are regular guest/presenter on Channel 31’s The Breakfast Show, where he hosted his own segment at the Victoria market called “Hamish Goes to Market.  He is currently working on his own show "Easy cooking".

This year he has undertaken the role as Vice President of the Victorian chapter of the Australian Culinary Federation.
